Horizon Yachts has begun construction on a 32 metre customised CC98 yacht ordered by an experienced four-time repeat Horizon client.
Commissioned by an “adventurous yachtsman” who enjoys remote cruising, the yacht is designed for long range cruising and can accommodate a helicopter and submarine.
The Australian owner requested specific and “challenging” details drawn from his experience owning Horizon yachts. As a result, the yacht will combine an exterior similar to the Horizon E Series yachts and the interior of the FD Series.
A superstructure constructed of carbon fibre composite provides the necessary strength and structural integrity for the helipad, as well as reducing the weight of the upper decks.
To accommodate the submarine meanwhile, the design sees the enclosed skylounge positioned forward by an additional six feet while two lifting cranes will be incorporated for the deployment and collection of equipment.
Elsewhere, the yacht will feature a telescoping mast and radar arch to allow it to pass beneath the low bridges of Australia.
Accommodation on board is for a total of 10 guests in five cabins, including a full beam main deck master. Elsewhere, the large galley is located aft of the main deck while a Jacuzzi and sunpad sit on the foredeck.
Construction is underway, with delivery on schedule for early 2021.
