Jarrett Bay Boatworks announces sale of 27m new build sportsfisher

12 February 2026 • Written by Emily Dawkins

North Carolina-based shipyard Jarrett Bay Boatworks has announced the sale of a new 27.4-metre custom sportsfisher yacht - the third yacht of the same size built by the yard. The new build, currently known as hull 69, has been sold to an owner and professional crew seeking to "pursue big game fishing destinations around the world".

Construction is now underway at the yard, which is host to a full suite of in-house design, fabrication and finishing resources, while the second 27.4-metre sportfisher build, hull 68, is also ongoing.

According to the shipyard, the third unit from the line will be purpose-built for international travel and competitive big game fishing. It will combine Jarrett Bay’s renowned Carolina heritage with advanced engineering, spacious accommodation and global cruising capabilities to support extended campaigns in the world’s premier sportfishing destinations.

“Commissioning hull 69 is a significant moment for Jarrett Bay,” said Jarrett Bay founding owner, Randy Ramsey. “Building our third 27.4-metre custom sportfish – while simultaneously constructing two boats of this size – speaks volumes about the trust owners place in our team and our ability to execute at the very highest level.”

The announcement comes as Jarrett Bay celebrates its 40-year anniversary this year. "As we look toward our 40th year, projects like Hull 69 reflect both how far we’ve come and where we’re headed,” added Ramsey. “Honouring tradition, while continuing to push boundaries, has always been central to the Jarrett Bay philosophy.”
