Italian shipyard Ocean King has unveiled a new Ducale explorer yacht series where it will be presented at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026. The first unit in the series is the Ducale 37, a 36.6-metre yacht designed inside and out by VYD Studios, with naval architecture courtesy of Arrabito Naval Architects and Italtecnica.
Pairing robust construction and long-range capability with contemporary design, the new series is an evolution of the yard's existing identity but reinterpreted through cleaner lines and a more dynamic profile. The Ducale 37 will be joined by a 49-metre model and a larger 799 GT model in the coming weeks.
Built in steel and aluminium, her full-displacement hull features a bulbous bow, clean surfaces, horizontal lines and extensive glazing for a visually lighter overall profile. She has been developed for RINA and Commercial Short Range classification.
A large aft deck pool is a particular focal point of the yacht, effectively transforming the aft section into a premium waterside environment and creating a strong visual connection with the water.
Her fluid onboard experience is enhanced through direct circulation between principal spaces, while extensive glazing brings natural light to the guest areas.
The accommodation layout is designed for 10 guests across five staterooms, comprising one owner’s suite, two VIP staterooms and two guest staterooms. The accommodation also includes dedicated space for a crew of seven: three bunk-bed cabins for six crew members and a separate captain’s cabin.
Paolo Dose, designer at VYD Studio, explained the inspiration behind the new series. “With Ducale, we worked on the evolution of an already very strong identity, seeking a natural balance between Ocean King’s authentic explorer character and a more contemporary design language.
"The proportions, continuity between the spaces and direct relationship with the sea were central elements of the project. The objective was to create a yacht capable of expressing solidity without appearing aggressive and refinement without losing her character," he said.
With a projected displacement of 360 tonnes at half load, the Ducale 37 is designed to reach a maximum speed of 14 knots and cruise at 11 knots, powered by MAN V12 engines compliant with IMO Tier III emissions standards and equipped with an SCR system.
According to BOATPro data, Ocean King's 40.4-metre Lori is currently on the market, listed with Camper & Nicholson and asking €21,500,000.
