Sanlorenzo displayed a new SL104 superyacht at the Miami Yacht & Brokerage Show that boasted many next-generation features.

She is the second hull of this model built for the US market and she is full of innovations over her predecessor, such as larger windows, an extended bathing platform with rainforest shower, a drop-down portside balcony and a foredeck settee and table that converts to a sunpad.

Her exterior styling stays true to the Sanlorenzo tradition of clean flowing lines, but forward on the main deck is an interesting feature that can temporarily change the lines in the name of great views. GRP panels on the side of the superstructure can retract to maximize the views from the on-deck master’s windows.

The superstructure is wider on this model, providing more volume, which designer Marty Lowe used to create a bright, contemporary interior filled with subtle color and texture. Using whitewashed oak and walnut, top-stitched leather cabinetry, as well as cool accents such as sandblasted stone in the guest showers, Lowe created a relaxing décor that is in her words, “a celebration with the sea.”

This 104 features five staterooms, including the panoramic owner’s suite located forward on the main deck. The four staterooms belowdecks are each spacious, boasting huge portlights and are completely equitable in size; two convert from twin berths to queens.

Since the yacht’s transom garage accommodates a tender (4.5 meter) and a Jet Ski, the huge flybridge has room for well-defined relaxation, dining and navigation areas. Sanlorenzo’s “luxury brand alliance” shows its merit up top with the custom Boffi-designed bar/buffet and the Paola Lenti chairs and lounges. An extra for the US market is the huge grill.

The propulsion package includes twin 2,434-hp MTU 16V 2000s, which push the planing yacht to a top speed of 29 knots. Zero-speed stabilizers and excellent noise-and-vibration attenuation make her extra comfortable. The full navigation and electronics package even includes underwater lights and nighttime vision cameras.

All the many extra features on this model make her very appealing to the US market and – as Alastair Callender, creative director of Sanlorenzo Americas, pointed out – make her, like all Sanlorenzos, truly one of a kind.
