Lürssen superyacht Quantum Blue arrives on French Riviera

German yacht builder Lürssen’s new 104 metre superyacht Quantum Blue has arrived in the Mediterranean. She was photographed by a Boat International team member this morning making her first appearance on the French Riviera.

In the new photos, you can see Quantum Blue’s pleasing exterior lines by UK yacht designer Tim Heywood. She has an inset balcony on the main deck and large, rectangular windows all the way forward. The late Alberto Pinto oversaw the yacht’s interior design.

Lürssen launched Quantum Blue back in July 2014 and she went on sea trials in October 2014. While the superyacht was officially delivered before the end of December 2014, Quantum Blue has remained in Germany until this May – she was spotted at the German yard as recently as April, looking dwarfed by the 150 metre Lürssen new launch Project Omar, seen on the water in this video.

Quantum Blue sailed into Gibraltar on June 4, and she has just now arrived in the French Riviera for the summer season.

The project was originally said to be 102.6 metres, but at 104 metres she was the second largest launch of the 2014 after Fincantieri's 140 metre superyacht Ocean Victory.
