Stewardess dies after fall on board superyacht in Nice

13 June 2023

A 26-year-old stewardess, named Amber Crouse, has died after falling down the stairs on board the 45-metre motor yacht Goose in Port Lympia, Nice.

According to a source, the incident occurred mid-morning on Saturday, 10 June. While descending an interior staircase, the crewmember tripped and fell. Other crewmembers were able to respond quickly but efforts by emergency services to revive her were unsuccessful.

A Just Giving page has been started to repatriate Crouse back to her family in South Africa.

The page was started by fellow crewmember and boyfriend Ashley Ogborne who said: “Amber was the kindest and most happy soul I have ever had the pleasure of meeting – a person who you felt you‘d known your whole life within 10 minutes of meeting her. She had a zest for life like no other and lived each and every day with purpose, passion and excitement."

Goose is a privately owned vessel and was moored along Quai Papacino at the time of the incident. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
