Damen Yachting has announced the sale of the third unit in its 80-metre Amels Limited Editions series, less than three months after the second hull was sold.
The third in the series will be built under the name Project Zurich and customised with "a number of spectacular unique features", according to the shipyard.
The Amels 80 is the largest offering in the shipyard's popular Limited Editions range and was introduced to the market in March 2022 with the first hull sold six months later. Exterior design is the work of Espen Øino – who has worked with the shipyard on the new Amels 60 and the custom build Energy – while a "well-known" interior design team remains confidential.
Highlights of the 2,175GT superyacht include a 200-square-metre sundeck, a dedicated owner's deck, a 6.5-metre swimming pool and a foredeck helipad. Another area worth mentioning is the beach club which serves as a fully-fledged waterfront lounge with opening sea terraces that create a semi-enclosed space with access to the spa, sauna, gym, Hammam and massage room. A circular social area takes centre stage with a sit-up bar and the space can also be converted into a cinema.
“It is almost a year to the date since we introduced the Amels 80," said Jan van Hogerwou, commercial executive of Damen Yachting. "The fact that we have seen not only positive reactions to the design since the launch but also a strong sales foothold within the first 12 months is a true testament to her modern design and trusted build pedigree."
The Amels 80 follows in the footsteps of more than 40 other Amels Limited Editions superyachts delivered since 2005. With delivery slated for 2026, the third Amels 80 will join its sisterships in the construction shed, alongside three Amels 60 models and a 120-metre flagship.
