Dutch yard Van der Valk has announced that the custom, 35.9-metre Jangada has successfully completed sea trials. In a statement shared by the shipyard, Jangada "delivered on every expectation" during the trials, which took place in the North Sea.

The new build was launched from the shipyard's Waalwijk facilities in November and is scheduled for delivery this spring. Her owner is a repeat client of the Dutch builders, previously owning a 25-metre and 32-metre under the same name, with the latter nominated for the World Superyacht Awards in 2020.

The first Jangada was launched in 2015 as one of Van der Valk's earliest raised pilothouse models and has since inspired "a number of notable projects for other clients", according to the shipyard. All three builds were developed in collaboration with the shipyard and designers Nick Top and Guido de Groot.

The 35.9-metre build has been designed to accommodate a growing family as well as "structural changes" to the owner's home berth in the Bay of St Tropez. An additional deck and higher levels of noise and vibration attenuation were requested, which guided the shipyard to elect a steel hull, aluminium superstructure and extensive sound insulation throughout.

Standout amenities onboard Jangada include her dedicated gym, 2.6-metre-high ceilings, expansive windows and jet-stream pool. The latter is positioned on the flybridge and measures 4.5 metres long and 1.5 metres deep.

Interiors, meanwhile, are said to showcase whitewashed wood details combined with "architectural functionality". The layout is family-friendly, including a full-beam owner's suite forward of the main deck and the lower deck cabins, which have been customised for the owner's children and grandchildren.

According to BOATPro, Van der Valk has five yachts on order or under construction. This includes its largest custom superyacht to date, the 47.8-metre Project Zen.
