New Zealand-based shipyard Yachting Developments has shared a first look inside its custom-built sportfishing yacht Gramac VII. The 34.9-metre build was delivered in 2024 and has remained private ever since.
Intended to offer high levels of performance and durability, the sportsfisher was constructed in lightweight carbon fibre composite to a design by local NZ studio Warwick Yacht Design. According to the yard, she was born from a close collaboration between the owner, designers, engineers and Yachting Development's in-house team.
Following her 2024 delivery, Gramac VII has travelled extensively around the South Pacific, including close to five months cruising the waters of Fiji with her owner.
"Extended owner use is the ultimate validation of a custom yacht," said Ian Cook, managing director of Yachting Developments. "Gramac VII was designed to be lived on and trusted. Her time cruising the Pacific has confirmed the strength of the concept, the execution and the people behind it."
Built to her owner's specific requirements, Gramac VII is wheelchair accessible throughout and features a lift that serves all decks. In what the yard states to be a "rare design solution", a private access route from the master suite leads directly to the engine room - a testament to the owner's hands-on approach to life on board.
Her interior, penned in-house by the shipyard, is characterised by an uncomplicated design, with a calm, clean and functional aesthetic defined by warm timber wood and neutral fabrics. A 200GT layout embraces a spacious, open-plan design, with accommodation for up to 10 guests across four cabins.

Outside, Gramac VII's decks are tailored to sportfishing; a large mezzanine cockpit above the fighting cockpit offers an elevated vantage point for anglers and observers, while an air-conditioned flybridge also offers another viewing area.
Powered by twin MTU engines (producing a combined 5,200 horsepower), Gramac VII is capable of reaching speeds of up to 31 knots. Humphree interceptors and fins, Sleipner electric thrusters and Veem propulsion components also add to her performance capabilities. Key specs include a 7.7-metre beam and a draught of 1.9 metres.
According to BOATPro, Yachting Developments has two new builds currently under construction, both of which are scheduled for delivery this year. It's famed 36.8-metre sailing yacht Bliss is currently listed for sale.
