YYachts delivers fourth flagship Y9 sailing yacht Ephemere

6 August 2025 • Written by Emily Dawkins

German yard YYachts has announced the delivery of the fourth unit in its flagship Y9 sailing yacht series, named Ephemere. The 27.4-metre departed the yard's outfitting facilities in Greifswald and, according to BOATPro, is already cruising in Norway with her owner. She will be making her debut at the Monaco Yacht Show in September.

Ephemere touched the water for the first time in May, unveiling her custom teal blue hull colour and clean and slender profile, penned by Bill Tripp of Tripp Design - also responsible for her naval architecture.

In keeping with the model, Ephemere's interior design is the work of award-winning Copenhagen-based studio, Norm Architects, with "tailor-made" customisations from YYachts' in-house design team. It is said to reflect the owner's vision, in a "harmonious blend of minimalist elegance and maritime comfort".

Series highlights include a generous beach club with a hydraulic swim platform and an office space integrated into the saloon, complete with a half-height room divider to allow for privacy. Accommodation is for six guests in a three-cabin layout.

According to the yard, the Y9 offers the volume of a 30-metre inside the compact package of a 27-metre, constructed in carbon fibre and engineered with easy manoeuvrability to ensure the yacht can be handled by a small crew.

The standard propulsion for the Y9 are twin Volvo engines

Ephemere's captain, who accompanied the yacht throughout her production process, said: "From the very first moment, it was clear: this Y9 is something special. She sails effortlessly, responds with precision, and remains astonishingly calm even in strong winds."

"The interplay of technology, lightweight construction, and design has been executed to perfection. The team at YYachts did a phenomenal job – the cooperation was professional, personal, and of the highest standard. All expectations were more than fulfilled," he continued.

Ephemere will be on display in Port Hercule at berth H04.
