Where is it?
Eau resort and spa sits on the sandy shores of Palm Beach, amid the neighbouring mansions of locals. A couple hours north of Miami, this billionaire’s playground offers high-end luxury for families wanting to indulge and unwind on the Atlantic coast.
Why the hype?
Toned families (who look like The Brady Bunch) may frolic in the waves at this seven-acre oceanfront property and its gym may be bursting with the latest Technogym equipment but the focus here is on fun, calorie counting be-damned. Treats available in the spa’s colourful waiting area, adorned with whimsical artworks, include two-bite cupcakes and champagne. The spa’s mantra is “pause, play, perfect” and as soon as you float a candle in the copper wishing well upon arrival, you will feel the strains of parenthood start to melt away.
What to have?
As Mary Poppins can testify, a spoonful of sugar is always beneficial and so each session starts with a spoonful of honey, designed to boost your immune system and awaken the senses. If you want to keep up with the celeb mum set and the likes of Heidi Klum, then book in with facial specialist Christy Chis (who has recently been imported from the Mario Badescu salon in New York). Her microcurrent facials, nicknamed the non-surgical facelift, zap your face to stimulate collagen production and firm up the skin. Your frown lines will be further reduced by the knowledge that your children are enjoying a complimentary hour at the resort’s AquaNuts (5-12s) or Coast (13-17s) clubs.
Best by boat:
Palm Harbor Marina in downtown West Palm Beach is a pretty 20-minute drive away along the Atlantic shore.
