Award-winning 55m Feadship motor yacht Somnium joins market

26 August 2025 • Written by Emily Dawkins

The award-winning 55.2-metre Feadship motor yacht Somnium has joined the brokerage market under a joint central agency with Alex Lees-Buckley of Camper & Nicholsons and Feadship Resale.

Somnium first hit the water in 2021, revealing her elegant, all-aluminium Studio De Voogt exterior and Feadship De Voogt naval architecture, in what was almost an all-Feadship creation. To complement her Dutch build, Italian design studio FM – Architettura d’interni was chosen to create her interiors, which are said to be inspired by the wild nature of the Galápagos Islands. It was her fully customised design that won her a Neptune at the 2022 World Superyacht Awards.

Somnium is asking €62,500,000 with VAT paid, currently lying in the South of France

Designed with family use in mind, Somnium is host to "calmly decorated facilities", a range of friendly amenities and spacious, well-proportioned accommodation.

Up to 11 guests are accommodated in a five-cabin layout, comprising a full-beam owner's suite on the main deck and four guest cabins on the lower deck. The master suite is (unsurprisingly) a highlight, with an off-centre bed, seating area, private balcony and a panoramic office; however, the guest cabins are equally as impressive. One of the cabins is dedicated to children with bunk beds, yet is decorated to "age well" as the children grow up, suited for adults too. There are further quarters for a crew of 13.

In terms of living spaces, the main saloon offers a more formal entertaining area with large matching sofas and a dining table seating 10. Meanwhile, the upper deck above is host to a "cosy" lounge – conceived as a "cocoon" according to the designer – complete with a semi-circular, comfortable sofa curved around a large television.

Throughout her interior, bespoke warm tones are layered with modern and antique-style touches, accented by splashes of colour through soft furnishings and mosaics. Furniture pieces and textile artwork are nods to the patterns found in nature, playing into the island inspiration.

With family life at her core, Somnium's exterior decks are just as well conceived – another box ticked for the World Superyacht Awards judges. One of her standout features is the 9,000-litre pool, which overlooks the transom on the aft deck. Complete with a counter-current jet for the fitness fanatics, the pool can also be raised flush with the deck to extend the space into a larger lounge or entertaining area.

Below, guests will find a beach club and gym (as per the owner's request), illuminated by the glass-bottomed pool above, while at the water’s edge, there is an enclosed tender garage and a dedicated dive store. A fold-down platform also extends from the gym to create a sea-level terrace.

Formal al fresco dining and seating can be found on the upper deck aft, while the panoramic sundeck is complete with a Jacuzzi and sunpads forward and a bar and dining table aft, which can be closed off for privacy. A large lounge area defines her foredeck with both fitted seating and loose furniture.

Somnium will be on display at the Monaco Yacht Show in September. According to her brokers, she "presents a rare opportunity to acquire an award-winning Feadship without the wait time of a new build".

The 744GT yacht for sale is powered by twin 1,224hp MTU engines, capable of reaching a top speed of 15.4 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots. She is also equipped with a 4,970 nautical-mile range at a 10-knot speed. A shallow draft of 2.7 metres allows for more cruising freedom on board the Feadship build.

Somnium is asking €62,500,000 with VAT paid, currently lying in the South of France.
