The 40-metre Bering motor yacht Familia has sunk in Sinop, Turkey.
According to local reports, the yacht began taking on water on Saturday evening (30 May). By the next morning (Sunday 31 May), her hull was completely submerged, leaving only her superstructure above water.
The local area reported heavy rain during the evening, though the cause of the sinking is currently unknown. Familia's six crew members were on board at the time, all of whom were reportedly evacuated quickly and without injuries.

Local reports note that efforts have now begun to salvage the yacht.
Familia was originally delivered in 2024 by Turkish shipyard Bering Yachts as Phnx. She was recently relaunched from Reviva Refit, the refit brand of Turkish shipyard Mengi Yay, following the completion of an extensive six-month refit, which included a two-metre hull extension.
BOAT International will update the story as it develops.
