Turkish shipyard Bilgin Yachts has added a new 52-metre model to its portfolio. Named Bilgin 170, the model is a collaboration between Unique Yacht Design and Hot Lab and is based on the Bilgin 163, of which it has sold two.

The Bilgin 170 offers an identical layout, but has more space and a more traditional bow design. The bridge deck has been extended by one and a half metres, the bow offers an additional relaxation area once the rescue boat is deployed, and an extended swim platform offers a larger space at the water's edge.

Construction on the first unit is already underway with delivery by the end of 2024, followed closely by the second unit, which is due for delivery in 2025.

"The primary goal during the design process was to optimise the 50-metre models, achieving a more sporty and masculine look while blending the design seamlessly to offer customers the ability to utilize both open and enclosed spaces under 500GT," said Emrecan Özgün of Unique Yacht Design. "This meticulous focus on functionality and aesthetics has resulted in a yacht that truly stands out from the crowd.”

The 499GT yacht will be able to accommodate up to 12 guests and a crew of nine.

Speaking on the new project, Berkay Yılmaz, commercial director of Bilgin Yachts said: “Bilgin 170 is built on the experience gained from the successful 47 and 50-metre projects and combines elegance with timeless lines. She has an elegant exterior and interior as well as a unique beach club and outdoor spaces.”

According to BOATPro, there are five other yachts currently under construction at the Turkish shipyard, including two Bilgin 163 models, a Bilgin 282, a Bilgin 263, and a Bilgin 243.
