New Dutch shipyard Leapher Yachts has announced the launch of the first superyacht from its facilities in Tolkamer, the Netherlands: the 61-metre explorer yacht Horizon II (previously known as Project Lazarus).
The new build hit the water at a large celebratory ceremony, showcasing her masculine grey and white profile as the very first unit from the shipyard's NAVIX60 model. She was last seen as a bare hull in 2024, when her superstructure and hull were joined.
Naval architecture for Horizon II is owed to Van Oossanen Naval Architects and O7 Designers, while Cor D. Rover was responsible for the yacht's exterior and interior design. The yacht has been developed as a "true long-range explorer"; constructed with a polar-classed steel hull, she is expected to traverse high-latitude regions, offering 40 days of autonomy at sea while still carrying the luxury qualities of a superyacht.
Inside, the explorer boasts a substantial 1,760GT of volume and accommodates 14 guests across six cabins. On board highlights include a dedicated beach club, expansive pool, sauna, gym and diving room. An expansive garage will host a range of tenders and water toys.
Horizon II has an expected top speed of 12 knots with a cruising speed of 10 knots and a range of 9,000 nautical miles.
Following her launch, the explorer yacht will proceed to the next phase of outfitting and commissioning before sea trials later this year.
