Mangusta unveils new GranSport 50 yacht model at Palm Beach International Boat Show

Italian shipyard Mangusta Yachts, a brand of Overmarine Group, has taken the opportunity of the 2026 Palm Beach International Boat Show to unveil a new 49.9-metre addition to its GranSport superyacht range. The announcement comes a month after the yard unveiled the GranSport 38 model at the 2026 Miami International Boat Show.

The new GranSport 50 now stands as the fifth offering within the yard's GranSport line, which also comprises the GranSport 34, the GranSport 45 and the GranSport 54. According to Mangusta, the GranSport 50 is not an evolution of the range, but a "metamorphosis" - taking the sport utility yacht concept to "its fullest expression" via sportiness, generous volumes and comfortable long-range cruising.

Designer Alberto Mancini, naval architect Ausonio of P.L.A.N.A. Design and the shipyard’s engineering department are behind the new 49.9-metre design.

The first hull will be delivered in June 2029

Maurizio Balducci, CEO of Overmarine Group, explained: “The Mangusta GranSport 50 has everything one expects of a Mangusta yacht: a highly recognisable sporty profile that embraces generous, stylishly harmonised interiors and exteriors, in an engineering feat that combines high speed, fuel efficiency and unmatched comfort with trans-oceanic range."

The core feature of the model is its layout, which spans over three and a half decks and features a Raised Pilot House (RPH) – a first for the line – which has been raised and integrated into the yacht's profile. “The inspiration behind the Mangusta GranSport 50 is equally simple and revolutionary: to offer ‘1/2 more' - half a deck more," added Stefano Arlunno, president of Mangusta Americas, who directly oversaw the design process.

"The Raised Pilot House changes everything: we wanted to free up the upper deck by envisaging new configurations that would radically redefine the onboard experience and create spaces to live, and not just to walk through," Arlunno continued. "On this vessel, the sea doesn’t simply surround you; it also stretches out right in front of you."

According to the yard, Mancini was tasked with reinterpreting the sporty features of the GranSport line with a more contemporary approach. The result is the yacht's slender and muscular profile, with extensive glazing that has "turned the sides of the vessel into transparent surfaces". Notably, even the fashion plates are now frameless.  “With the Mangusta GranSport 50, we wanted to take the onboard experience to the next level while also preserving the brand’s DNA,” commented Mancini. “Today, true luxury means space flexibility, brightness and freedom - this yacht embodies them all”.

Mancini is also responsible for the interiors of the GranSport 50, which sees all visual barriers between the interior and the exterior landscape removed. According to the yard, the "Upper Deck-and-A-Half" is the cornerstone of the project and is where the new RPH resides. As a result, space has been freed up at the forward area of the yacht, which now features the yard's signature infinity pool to "extend the line of the sea" and a panoramic lounge; though the space can be configured as a sixth cabin if desired.

Other interior highlights include the main deck, where the galley has been moved to the lower deck to dedicate the entire main deck instead to the owner. As such, a full-beam master suite lies forward and features large glazed surfaces, with the option for an automatically-operated balcony.

The GranSport 38 was revealed last month

Another standout of the new model is found at the stern, which is defined by a grand staircase connecting the main cockpit to the aft platform. Two curved side wings (said to be "sculpted like the doors of a supercar") open upwards to reveal a beach club that can be converted into a lounge overlooking the water or a panoramic gym. Nearby, sun loungers have been integrated into the transom for ease. Meanwhile, at the bow, an integrated side-opening garage can host a 6.3-metre tender and two jet skis.

Accommodation is for up to 12 guests in five cabins, in addition to nine crew in five cabins. Power is from twin 2,600hp MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines, expected to deliver a top speed of up to 20 knots (approx), a cruising speed of 16 knots and a range of 4,200 nautical miles.

According to BOATPro, Mangusta has 25 yachts currently in build or on order.
