Turkish yard Mengi Yay has announced the sale of the first unit from its NL Plus 52 yacht model. The 52.6-metre superyacht, project named NB114, is currently under construction at the shipyard's facilities in Istanbul. Delivery is scheduled for 2027.
Following the sale of the first unit, the shipyard also revealed that a second unit from the 52.6-metre series will now enter construction.
The news comes less than a year after the shipyard unveiled the interiors of the capsule collection, which has been penned throughout by Italian designer Nuvolari Lenard. The model's main focus is on open-air living, with an emphasis on redefining the experience on board through exterior decks that offer "elegance, comfort and a strong connection to the sea".

As such, an expansive beach club dominates the aft, transforming over the water with fold-out platforms and an integrated custom pool at water level. Below, a lower deck wellness area is complete with a sauna, fitness area and a "serene relaxation lounge", while at the bow, the model's generous foredeck doubles as an open-air cinema with a retractable screen.
Another standout feature is the sundeck. Described as "one of the largest in her category", the space is complete with a custom heated spa pool and a fire pit. There is also storage space on board for a seven-metre tender and a variety of water toys.
Accommodation includes a 50-square-metre owner's cabin with a dedicated office, spa-inspired bathroom and slide-out terrace. Guest accommodation is across four VIP cabins on the lower deck, alongside further quarters for eight crew.
Interiors are casual and sophisticated, incorporating a warm colour palette, minimalist lines and "premium woods" for a versatile canvas. Designed to reflect Nuvolari Lenard’s aesthetic, the interior welcomes a "youthful spirit of Mediterranean living" with large glass surfaces providing bounds of natural light and a visual indoor-outdoor connection.
"The sliding balcony has a couple of modes – when closed, it leaves a little space outside where you can hang out by opening the window door," naval architect and co-founder Carlo Nuvolari revealed last year. "It’s perfect to take the air or to enjoy the view of the sea and surroundings, day or night. When you slide the balcony out, the rail moves into place automatically, which means you can operate it and enjoy it in total privacy."
The custom superyacht has a "highly efficient" hull designed by Van Oossanen and holds the RINA C Hull classification, lying under the 500GT threshold.
“The contributions of Dan Lenard and Carlo Nuvolari have always brought forward-thinking ideas and a strong design vision to our projects," said Mengi Yay CEO Hüseyin Mengi. "We are excited to continue this successful collaboration and to realise even greater achievements together."
Mengi continued: "Following this sale, we have initiated work on a new Nuvolari Lenard Plus 52 project. We are pleased by the growing number of projects realised together with the studio. This continuity will enable us to move more swiftly on future yachts and to bring more innovative solutions to the market.”
According to BOATPro, Mengi Yay has six superyacht projects on order or under construction. The shipyard celebrated the successful delivery of Serenissima II in May last year.
