The 52.4-metre Palmer Johnson sports yacht DB9 has completed a comprehensive, 18-month refit period at Monaco Marine's facilities in La Seyne-sur-Mer. The first images of these "transformative" works have been released by her charter CA, IYC, as she prepares for a summer season cruising the South of France and Italy.
Works included a hull repaint that has revised her iconic champagne-and-red exterior by Nuvolari Lenard, opting for a stylish, metallic light grey. The exterior decks have also received a complementary touch-up with all upholstery replaced for a "crisp, contemporary feel".
Interior refits involved an upgraded entertainment system and some tweaks to the owner's cabin, including new wooden flooring and a redesigned wardrobe. The superyacht has also received new fitness equipment – including a state-of-the-art treadmill and workout bicycle – and had its Jacuzzi and swimming platform refreshed.
DB9 is the first unit in the PJ170 Sport Yacht series, of which there are only three cruising according to BOATPro. She burst onto the scene with several design features that became model hallmarks, including a large swimming pool on the foredeck that doubles as storage for a 6.5-metre tender.
Other highlights include a spacious sundeck with spa pool, al fresco dining on the main deck and accommodation for ten guests.
DB9 can reach an impressive top speed of 32 knots, with her post-refit Naiad stabilisation system – complete with four carbon electric fins – offering additional comfort while underway and at anchor.
