Italian shipyard Rosetti Superyachts has launched Project Makasea, the second hull in the Rosetti 38m EXP series, two months ahead of schedule.

Project Makasea is the result of a collaboration with Hydro Tec, who developed the exterior and naval architecture and Burdissocapponi Yachts & Design for interiors.

Built in steel and aluminum, the Rossetti 38m EXP series marks the yard’s first venture into explorer-type superyachts, known otherwise for constructing ocean-going supply vessels.

The 432GT interior has accommodation for a total of twelve guests in five cabins, including a full-beam main deck owner’s suite with a private balcony.

While full details have not been disclosed, some highlights have been unveiled including a 150-square-metre sundeck that features a dining area, jacuzzi and bar, as well as a sea-level beach club. Interior spaces incorporate near-full-height glass and bulwark cutouts for uninterrupted views.

Powered by twin 800hp MAN diesel engines, Project Makasea can reach a top speed of 13 knots and a transatlantic range of 4,500 nautical miles when pared back to 10 knots.

The news follows the 2021 launch of Rosetti’s first hull in the series, named Emocean.
