Italian yard Rosetti Superyachts has announced that the letter of intent (LOI) on its second 38 metre RSY explorer EXP superyacht has been signed.
It comes after the yard previously announced it would begin construction on spec at Rosetti’s San Vitale shipyard in Ravenna, with an expected delivery date for July 2023.
Speaking on the announcement, Rosetti's sales and marketing director Andrea Giora said: “The owners of this second 38 metre were enchanted by the sturdiness of the boat with its ample volumes and efficient use of space.”
The yacht will be the sistership to the first model Emocean, which debuted at this year's Cannes Yachting Festival after launching in June 2021. Designed by Hydro Tec, the 38m Rosetti explorer features a steel hull and aluminium superstructure.
The yacht will be powered by twin MAN D2868 LE 425 engines for a top speed of 13 knots and a cruising speed of 10 to 11 knots.
“By displaying Emocean at Cannes, we have attracted the attention of boat owners who are looking for an extremely reliable shipyard,” added Rosetti’s chairman and chief executive, Ermanno Bellettini.
This comes after the yard announced the LOI for its new 40 metre explorer project during the Cannes Yachting Festival.
