Sunseeker launches first 30m Sunseeker 100 Yacht

26 April 2022• Written by Holly Overton

British yard Sunseeker has officially launched the first hull in its new 100 Yacht series. The 29.8 metre superyacht was lowered into the water at the shipyard's Poole Harbour facility and is now preparing for sea trials ahead of delivery into the Mediterranean this summer.

The new model is defined by a walkaround flybridge that connects the top deck with the foredeck lounge, and marks the start of a "new era" in flybridge design for Sunseeker, the shipyard said.

Built from a GRP hull and superstructure, the yacht features a 125GT interior and beam of 6.9 metres. Four units of the yacht have already been sold, with the second hull nearing completion. "Aggressive styling remains true to Sunseeker lineage but with a new, three-dimensional aesthetic", the shipyard added.

The foredeck has two separate seating arrangements with cinema screen capability, while the central flybridge has L-shaped seating, a fully equipped wet bar and space aft for free-standing furniture or a Jacuzzi. The flybridge can be customised to feature an optional helm station, generous seating and a wet bar. There is also space for a Jacuzzi or additional sun loungers.

Accommodation on board is for a total of eight guests, including the full beam owner’s suite with an ensuite, walk-in wardrobe, office and large lobby, which sits forward of the main deck.

The owner’s suite is illuminated by natural light, thanks to oversized glazing, while owners also have access to a foredeck terrace through a fully glazed sliding door forward. The interior has been designed to “exude expansive space and light throughout,” the yard said.

Elsewhere, the main deck saloon has been described as “penthouse style” with “elegant interiors." “The layering of textual elements and the mix of furnishings and fabrics feels timeless with a modern twist that oozes sleek simplicity and sophistication,” the yard said.

The main deck also features a formal dining area for eight guests and a large galley forward with direct side deck access for crew. The forward crew quarters are accessed through the galley. Accommodation on board is for a total of four crew, including a dedicated captain's cabin.

The aft tender garage meanwhile is capable of converting into a “large and luxurious” beach club, complete with a built-in BBQ and a rain shower. The tender garage meanwhile can be flooded electronically and is large enough to accommodate a Williams 460 Sportjet, as well as a GTX255 jet ski and Seabobs.

Speaking on the launch, Andrea Frabetti, chief executive officer at Sunseeker International, said: “We are incredibly proud to unveil the 100 Yacht here in Poole with the owner in attendance to see, for the first time, this spectacular new model.

"The second hull is following in close succession and our teams are now busy building multiple 100 Yacht orders for delivery in 2022 and beyond: it’s been a remarkable success. The order book is a reflection of our brand strength, the in-house creativity and the passion of all involved to deliver a spectacular new model. This is the only yacht offering seamless access between flybridge, foredeck and owners’ private terrace on the sea.”

Power will come from MTU 12V 2000 M96X as standard or MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines as an option, with top speeds of 29 knots and a range of 1,300 nautical miles at 12 knots.
