Dutch design studio Vripack has expanded its SUV-styled explorer yacht range to include two new models.
The new 33 metre Rock XL and 42 metre Big Rock models follow in the footsteps of the first model in the series, the 24 metre Rock.
Speaking about the design, Vripack designer Robin de Vries said: “We took all the key elements of the 24 metre Rock and made it bigger and better. And that may sound simple, but at the core of that premise is an evolved owner and guest experience.”
Described as the “big brother” to the Rock model, the first Rock XL began construction in September 2020 and has an estimated build time of 16 months. Key features include a 265GT interior, storage for a 5.6 metre tender at the transom and increased storage space at the bow.
De Vries estimates Rock XL’s cabins and living spaces to be 50% bigger than those on board the Rock model.
“We gave everything a bit more room to breathe,” he added.
Elsewhere, the owner’s area will feature a private spa, gym, office, bedroom and terrace. The master suite has been increased from an area of 20 square metres on board Rock to 45 square metres on board Rock XL.
The additional nine metres in length allowed the inclusion of an enlarged sky lounge with access to a swimming pool and lounge area on the sky deck.
“The larger sky deck benefits from this newly designed pool and lounge area, making it a truly inviting place to sit and relax undisturbed by crew,” de Vries said.
The news comes after the third Rock model began construction at Turkish shipyard Evadne Yachts.
