Mariah Carey holidays on Arctic P

Mariah Carey holidays on Arctic P

International pop star Mariah Carey treated her children to a luxury yacht vacation aboard Arctic P in Capri this week and took to Instagram to show the world how much they were enjoying it. Carey posted two pictures to the social media site – one showing her son Moroccan using a pair of binoculars to spy on neighbouring yachts and another showing the singer playing with her daughter Monroe.

Carey and her children are due to set sail to Cannes and St Tropez after leaving Capri and are joined on board by Arctic P’s owner, billionaire businessman James Packer. Packer, who is rumoured to be the singer’s new boyfriend, inherited the 88 metre yacht from his father, the media mogul Kerry Packer, in 2005.

Arctic P has just undergone an extensive and luxurious refit so Packer is no doubt keen to show her off to his new love interest. Taking seven months to complete, she now has a redesigned beach club with a Jacuzzi, swimming pool and dining table, all of which can be raised and lowered so the space can be used for entertaining. The pools are also separated from the rest of the deck space by railings – a feature installed thanks to Packer’s concern for young children, like Carey’s, who often stay on board the yacht.

Arctic P also offers accommodation for 12 guests and 25 crew and, when not being used for Mediterranean cruises, is a capable explorer yacht. She won the Voyager’s Award at the World Superyacht Awards 2015 and holds the record for the furthest south a yacht has ever been.
