The 55-metre Amels motor yacht Step One has been sold in a deal with Splinter Fangman of Edmiston representing the buyer, and Inigo Nicholson and Ben Doof of Barnes Yachting representing the seller.
With naval architecture by Tim Heywood, Step One was built by Dutch yard Amels in steel and aluminium and delivered in 2012 as the yard's first Limited Editions 180 yacht. She was also designed by Tim Heywood, while her interiors are owed to Laura Sessa Design. She joined the sales fleet in 2022, fresh from a multi-million dollar refit that left her in exacting condition.
A custom interior makes use of crisp creams and whites, with maple wood and white onyx contrasted against black details. Accommodation is for up to 11 guests in five cabins, including a master suite on the main deck, three doubles and a twin, all with en-suite bathroom facilities.
The yacht's designers have utilised the space to its fullest in the main saloon. Seating is to port while aft, in an area necessarily constricted by the technical ducting, a port-side bar features a backlit base that's perfect for evening entertainment.
Elsewhere, the yacht boasts a touch-and-go helipad, a generous beach club and a steam room that's primed for spa sessions at sea. Crowning the yacht, a split-level sundeck stretches out over 155 metres and offers a variety of amenities that larger yachts would be proud of.
The forward area is complete with daybeds with optional shading. Amidships is a 3,000-litre spa pool, while an al fresco dining table is nestled between the sweeping curves of the side coamings and shaded from the sun under the distinctive communications arch.
Step One was last asking $33,700,000.
