Mangusta motor yacht African Cat sold

29 July 2021 • Written by Malcolm Maclean

The 39.65 metre Mangusta motor yacht African Cat, jointly listed for sale by Northrop & Johnson and Camper & Nicholsons International, has been sold with the buyer introduced by Peter Hurzeler of Ocean Independence.

Designed by Stefano Righini, she was built in GRP by Italian yard Overmarine to Bureau Veritas class and delivered in 2007 as a Mangusta 130’ model with the same owner until now.

African Cat was asking €5,500,000

Her interiors are rich and opulent, making use of polished high gloss wenge wood and other high-quality materials to accommodate 12 guests in five cabins including a full beam master suite and VIP suite, and all cabins have en suite bathroom facilities.

With much of her layout dedicated to exterior spaces, al fresco living comes to the fore. Along with a large sunbed on the stern, she has a built-in seating area that provides welcome privacy when in port. Her generous deck areas are tailor-made for entertaining, while much thought has also been given to creating an environment that is safe for multi-generational groups: the aft-deck lounging area includes a Jacuzzi, added at the owner’s request so younger family members can swim safely.

Powered by twin 3,650hp MTU diesel engines, she can reach a top speed of 32 knots and cruises at 28 knots.

African Cat was asking €5,500,000.
