Construction begins on 125m+ AKYACHT superyacht

22 December 2025 • Written by Emily Dawkins

Turkish shipyard AKYACHT has begun construction on a new 125- to 130-metre superyacht known as NB012.

The project is not only the biggest undertaking by the shipyard to date but is set to be the largest superyacht built on Turkish soil. Delivery is scheduled for 2030.

Details remain sparse, yet it has been confirmed that veteran designer Espen Øino is responsible for the exteriors, while Dutch design studio Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design is undertaking the interior design and Azure Yacht Design & Naval Architecture the naval architecture. Hamburg-based studio Dölker + Voges is behind the interior design of the crew areas.

The contract signing for NB012 was first announced in 2023, where it was unveiled that the project would be constructed in steel and aluminium and "combine uncompromised luxury, technology, engineering and propulsion", according to the shipyard.

The yard also confirmed to BOAT International that the new build's gross tonnage will be in the range of 8,000-10,000GT.

Victorious, the current flagship of AKYACHT

NB012 will be constructed at AKYACHT's recently expanded facilities in the Kocaeli Free Trade Zone. Offering a total footprint of more than 100,000 square meters, the shipyard now stands as one of the largest yacht builders in the country.

Once built, she will succeed the shipyard's flagship project, the award-winning 85-metre Victorious, and unseat the country's current largest superyacht build, the 88-metre sailing yacht Maltese Falcon.
