Fledgling design studio Bassan & Benedetti has revealed a 78 metre concept named Lontano, based on the hull of a supply vessel from the Norweigan shipyard Ulstein.

Sporting a striking exterior inspired by military vessels, the concept is designed for long-range nautical expeditions while still maintaining a “family-cruise feel”, with a “functional and elegant” interior.
A beam of 16 metres provides spacious living areas, including accommodation for 12 guests in six large staterooms designed in the style of a Manhattan sky-top apartment. Crew accommodation meanwhile is for a total of 26.
On board amenities include two observation lounges forward and aft, while the sun deck hosts a Jacuzzi. Elsewhere, the aft beach club features a nine-metre swimming pool, a large gym and a spa and massage room. A cinema room is found on the main deck with ample seating and panoramic views.

Below sit two nine-metre tenders deployable with a crane, alongside Jet Skis and scuba diving equipment.
Lontano is estimated to have a top speed of 12 knots and a range of 8,000 nautical miles, powered by twin Rolls Royce AZ 100 electric Azipod engines.
