1. 28m Viking runs aground in Delray Beach, Florida

The 28.4-metre Viking motor yacht Pastime ran aground in Delray, Florida, on 3 November. A towing company arrived on the scene to pull the 2016 Viking model to safety, but multiple lines snapped and the towing attempt was initially unsuccessful.

2. Owner not backing down on plans for world’s largest yacht REV Ocean

The 195-metre, record-breaking research expedition vessel REV Ocean resumed construction at one of Vard's facilities this month. In an exclusive interview with BOAT International, REV Ocean CEO Nina Jensen discussed the work planned to improve the yacht's functionality as well as the innovative features guests could expect.

3. F1 giant Adrian Newey OBE commissions new 27m Oyster yacht

Adrian Newey OBE, chief technical officer of Formula One's Red Bull Racing team, chose British shipyard Oyster to build his new sailing yacht. The 27.4-metre Oyster 885 is due for delivery in 2024, with Newey heavily involved in the build – from creating "bespoke solutions" to improve its energy efficiency to customising its interiors.

4. World's largest sportfish nearing completion at Royal Huisman

Royal Huisman's 52-metre Project 406 (better known as the world's largest sportfish yacht) reached a construction milestone this month. It was revealed that the yacht would soon have its upper deck, sun-awning hardtop and radar mast installed at the shipyard's new-build facilities in Vollenhove, the Netherlands.

5. Tecnomar's radical catamaran This Is It joins the charter fleet

IYC announced that from April 2024 it would be This Is It's central agency for charter. Starting at €450,000 per week, this announcement makes the 43.5-metre Tecnomar yacht the world's largest charterable motor catamaran.

6. Highly secretive 103m Feadship Ulysses on sea trials

The highly secretive 103-metre Feadship superyacht Ulysses was sighted on sea trials. Formerly known only as Feadship 1011, she is owned by Graeme Hart, New Zealand's wealthiest man.

7. Zero fossil-fuel Vitters sailing yacht enters next phase of construction

Vitters has rolled its "zero fossil fuel" sailing yacht Project 3094 (better known as Project Zero) into the shed in Zwartsluis, the Netherlands. Set to be a landmark in sustainability-focused yachting, Project Zero is scheduled for delivery in 2025.

8. Exclusive look inside Perini Navi's ArtExplorer

Following her debut at this year's Monaco Yacht Show, exclusive imagery of the 46.5-metre ArtExplorer was revealed by her central agency for charter, Fraser. The world's largest aluminium sailing catamaran, ArtExplorer will be used as a floating art gallery that will undertake a two-year voyage to showcase "artistic experiences" to the world.

9. Lürssen begins refit work on 93m sailing yacht Eos

The 92.9-metre schooner Eos arrived at Lürssen's refit facilities in Hamburg to be overhauled and fully serviced. The largest sailing yacht built by the German shipyard, her relaunch is anticipated for April 2024.

10. First interior renders of 67m Heesen superyacht Sparta revealed

Finally, the first interior renders of the 67-metre Heesen superyacht Sparta were revealed by Arcon Yachts. The shipyard's largest steel construction to date, she was last spotted heading out on sea trials in August.
