Foiler unveils world's first private foiling yacht in collaboration with Bozca Design

UAE-based brand Foiler has unveiled the world's first private foiling yacht platform, known as Ghost. The 28-metre serial-production design was unveiled at the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show, where it was also revealed that construction on the first unit is expected to begin within the next 12 to 18 months. The first launch is scheduled for 2029.

Turkish studio Bozca Design is behind the foiler's semi-customisable design, which is said to represent a "new era of performance, comfort and elegance at sea", while UAE shipyard ENATA will be responsible for the build.

Foiler is responsible for the famed "flying" yacht Spirit

Flowing lines and a sculptural silhouette characterise Ghost's profile, creating a futuristic yet somewhat timeless profile, decorated with elongated floor-to-ceiling glazing which simultaneously provides bright and "nearly transparent" living areas on board.

“Every structural and aesthetic decision is made with intention,” said Timur Bozca, head of Bozca Design. “There are no decorative elements, only forms that serve performance, reliability and clarity. Ghost is not just a foiling yacht but a high-performance platform shaped by architecture, precision engineering and a philosophy of purposeful design.”

In terms of specs, Ghost has a beam of eight metres, which extends to near 20 metres with foils deployed, and will be constructed in carbon fibre and titanium for a lightweight, yet strong, near-airborne platform. As a result, the foiler will be capable of "flying" approximately two metres above the water, capable of reaching a top speed of more than 40 knots and cruising comfortably between 30-35 knots.

“Foiling transforms the experience of yachting,” explained Alois Vieujot, CEO of ENATA Group. “At 40 knots, passengers can move freely, speak in hushed tones, and enjoy a completely smooth, stable ride, something unimaginable on a conventional yacht. Ghost takes this comfort and serenity to a whole new scale.”

Inside, 133 square metres of living space (excluding cabins) comprises an open plan layout, defined by "contemporary minimalism". Rich materials have been integrated with advanced control systems; another oxymoron being her soft and fluid interiors contrasting with her angular profile. Accommodation is for eight to 10 guests across a three or five-cabin layout.

Features on board include a beach club aft that connects directly to the sea and an integrated, hidden crane system for quick deployment of a Jet Ski or tender without disrupting Ghost's design.
