Brokerage firm Cecil Wright has announced the sale of an 83-metre Feadship project, currently being constructed at the yard's Royal Van Lent facilities.
Known as Project Solent, the yacht is being built for a repeat client and is scheduled for delivery in summer 2027. Exterior and interiors are owed to British designers Malcolm McKeon of MMYD and Mark Whiteley of MWD, respectively. The former specialises in sailing yachts (known for his work on the 63-metre Project Dreamer and the 59.7-metre Sarissa) but has branched out into motor yachts as of late, with a collaboration with Italian yard Benetti recently announced.
“Project Solent embodies MMYD’s commitment to timeless design," said McKeon. "Her exterior profile is defined by clean, enduring lines, reflecting our belief that true elegance lies in restraint and proportion. This yacht captures the essence of the owner’s vision, distilled into a concept that resonates with MMYD’s design DNA, performance, innovation, and a connection with the sea. We are proud to see our vision take shape in Project Solent and to contribute to the creation of a yacht that will stand as a benchmark for years to come.”
Founder of Cecil Wright, Chris Cecil-Wright, added: "It’s a privilege to be guiding this exceptional project from inception through to delivery. This will be a yacht of remarkable pedigree, designed by two of the industry's most visionary talents and built by the masters at Royal Van Lent."
Cecil Wright will remain involved throughout the build process as part of the owner’s project management team.
Further details will be revealed as the build progresses.
