Perini Navi has closed on the sale of the second hull in its 38m Racing Line sailing superyacht.
The performance yacht sloop C.2130 began as a spec build, inspired by her big sister, the well-received, regatta-regular P2 launched in 2008. Hull No 2 of the 38m series is under construction at the Perini Navi shipyard in La Spezia, Italy, and will delivered in 2015.
C.2130 has a brief for fast and easy sail handling and takes advantage of new high-performance sailing technologies. This includes three semiautomatic Perini Navi electric captive winches, laminated sails and a carbon fibre furling boom. Carbon fibre is also utilised in her standing rigging, spreaders, roll bar and helm. Her hull and superstructure will be constructed in Sealium – a lightweight aluminium alloy. The superyacht will displace only 160 tons and have a gross tonnage of 171 tons.
A 'Silent Night' system will also be installed aboard a Perini Navi yacht for the first time on C.2130. This green-technology system allows all systems on board to run on batteries while the generators are switched off; as an added bonus, guests can enjoy complete silence at night while the yacht runs in 'Silent Night' mode.
The new sloop also differs in layout to her predecessor P2. Designed by the Perini Navi Design Department, the interior is aimed maximise interior space and storage while creating comfortable living accommodation.
Perini Navi currently has hull No 2 of its 60m line in build, C.2218, due for delivery this year, and its first 70m, C.2227, is due for delivery in 2015.
