VisionF Yachts launches second 24m all-electric catamaran

Turkish shipyard VisionF Yachts has announced the launch of the second unit from its all-electric E-Cat 80 catamaran series.

The 24-metre yacht hit the water at the yard's new build facilities in Tuzla, Istanbul, unveiling her carbon fibre build, lean hulls and clean, contemporary lines by Marco Casali of Too Design.

She joins the first in the series, Atraversia, which was delivered earlier this year in April, yet is said by the yard to introduce "several exciting updates" to the model. New additions include an extended roof to accommodate eight extra solar panels and an "upgraded" flybridge with a Jacuzzi and outdoor cinema.

The second model also features five cabins – instead of Atraversia's four – accommodating up to 12 guests, with the new fifth cabin designed as a dedicated children's room. Crew comfort was also a priority, with accommodation for four crew in addition to an "exceptional" en suite captain’s cabin.

Repeated series highlights include spacious living areas – thanks to the model's generous 10.9-metre beam – and a 15-square-metre tender garage capable of accommodating two tenders, complete with a hydraulic stern hatch, electric winch and secure tender lashing system.

Twin Danfoss electric motors and a bow and stern thruster provide "exceptional agility and control",  with cruising speeds of between six to eight knots. Thanks to her additional solar panels, the second model from the series is equipped with 62 solar panels that continuously charge her batteries and generate up to 24.8kW per hour, allowing her to cruise without depending on external power.

Twin 150kW generators offering a range of 1,000 nautical miles provide backup energy for emergencies and boost the yacht's efficiency when cruising at high speeds.

The E-Cat 80 model has been optimised for both private and charter use, yet the yard noted how the arrangement can be "extensively tailored" to suit exacting owner requirements, as demonstrated in this second unit.

VisionF Yachts recently revealed the interiors of its 30.7-metre "ultramodern" 101 catamaran, which is preparing for launch this year.
