Turkish builder Turquoise Yachts has announced the delivery of its 87.7-metre superyacht Angelique - its largest build in both length and volume and now the largest yacht by volume built in Turkey to date, according to BOATPro.
The steel and aluminium new build (known as Project Vento throughout construction), hit the water in January at the yard's facilities in Pendik, Istanbul, unveiling her soft lines, angled grilles and a hull finished in a striking "Tour de France" blue. British studio H2 Yacht Design is the team responsible for both her exterior and interior design - another project in a long-lasting collaboration with the shipyard that spans 12 yachts over 17 years.
At 2,646GT, Angelique now surpasses Turquoise Yachts' previous flagship, 79-metre Nympheas (delivered last year), by almost 10 metres and 500GT.
“It is still difficult to fully grasp the sheer scale of the achievement of our team and valued solution partners,” said CEO of Turquoise Yachts, Burak Akgül. “As the second – and largest – of five custom yachts derived from our 80-metre platform, Angelique unequivocally marks a new standard of our ability.”
Founder of H2 Yacht Design, Jonny Horsfield, added: “I have worked with Turquoise for over 20 years, and the experience has always been one of cooperation and mutual respect. Over that time, I have seen Turquoise evolve and grow into a truly world-class operation, and Angelique is a credit to the yard and its determination to continually improve and learn.”
Highlights of the flagship include two Jacuzzis, expansive deck spaces and "one of the largest beach clubs in her class", which is complete with a drive-in tender docking system, fold-down terraces on both sides and illuminated from the pool skylights above. One of the yacht's defining features is her focus on wellness, which includes onboard amenities such as a full spa with a hammam, sauna and treatment room, a panoramic bridge-deck gym and a glass-surround 6.5-metre swimming pool with contra-flow on the main deck.
Entertainment and outdoor living were also key aspects of the owner's brief. As such, Angelique features DJ facilities, a golf simulator and a touch-and-go helipad that doubles as a basketball court when not in use. Her crowning glory, however, is the large sundeck that houses an informal seating and cooking area with teppanyaki and barbecue grills, an outdoor cinema, a bar and fixed sunpads around one of the two Jacuzzis.
Further entertaining space can be found in the main saloon, which is home to a statement bar and circular seating arrangement, alongside a formal dining table for 16 guests. Angelique's interiors are said to reflect H2 Yacht Design’s "refined Art Deco approach", blending rich materials and curved details with an elegant and contemporary atmosphere. According to the yard, her interior was inspired by the 77-metre Go.
“Taking cues from Go, Angelique features a rich, Art Deco–inspired interior that we’ve taken to another level,” Horsfield explained at her launch. “We identified what the client was drawn to and evolved those ideas into something tailored to their tastes and how they live on board.” Blue accents and "rich detailing" are also worth noting.
Turquoise also collaborated closely with local craftsmanship on the new build's construction, with longstanding partner Ulutas playing a key role in her interior. Among many standout details, Angelique features polished stainless steel detailing throughout, which was produced locally.
“It is the finest I have ever seen from any shipyard,” added Horsfield. “The quality of the lacquer work is also world-class. Both are exceptionally difficult elements to execute well, yet Ulutas and Turquoise have achieved a truly exceptional finish. Their quality and attention to detail are second to none, and it is always a pleasure to collaborate with them.”
Accommodation is for 12 across seven flexible cabins, including an owner's suite situated forward on a private deck, complete with a private television lounge area, his-and-hers dressing rooms, an office and an elevated breakfast table for views over the bow. On the same deck, there is a more relaxed saloon with a games table and a cinema screen, alongside a bar and dining area which can be enclosed via sliding glass doors to create a winter garden. Outside lies a forward private terrace with recessed seating and the second Jacuzzi.
Two VIPs, three doubles and one convertible cabin are all located on the main deck, while crew accommodation sleeps 27. A lift serves all decks on board, though the highlight is the central open staircase-cum-atrium, which is host to a suspended sculpture by Dale Chihuly. A large array of tenders and water toys completes Angelique's package, while power is from twin MTU engines offering a top speed of 17 knots.
Owner’s representation throughout the build was provided by Occam Marine. Co-founder Giles Frankal commented on the construction process: “The project was exceptionally well planned and supported. The finished yacht is a true reflection of the quality, craftsmanship and design vision delivered by all involved. We are incredibly proud to have contributed to the largest yacht delivered by Turquoise to date.”
Following her delivery, Angelique is now exclusively available for charter with Edmiston from €1,200,000 per week.
According to BOATPro, Turquoise Yachts currently has four yachts on order or under construction, including its first hybrid superyacht, the 76.3-metre N2H, which hit the water last month.
