Dutch builder Van der Valk has shared the first interior renderings of its in-build custom explorer yacht Project Capella.
The 23.5 metre project was sold in June 2021 and features a steel hull and aluminium superstructure designed by Guido de Groot. Naval architecture comes courtesy of Ginton Naval Architects in collaboration with Diana Yacht Design and the yacht is due for delivery in spring 2023.

The yard is working closely with the owners, who have stipulated specific customisations, including a steel hull, flotilla of accompanying toys and open plan main deck to increase communal flow on board. A window above the galley will look up to the flybridge, so “no-one is left out.” The aim is to create an “ultimate home-at-sea” to facilitate family expeditions.
“Project Capella is completely prepared for both warmer and colder climates, thanks to her cleverly designed windows, insulation and underfloor heating. She could go to places such as the Norwegian fjords without any issues,” adds Kooltjes.
The “European” interior, also penned by Guido de Groot, will feature accommodation for eight guests across a master cabin, VIP and two guest suites with twin beds that can convert to doubles.
While predominantly owner-operated, Project Capella will feature a crew quarters of two staff cabins on the lower deck accessible via a separate entrance for maximum privacy.
Power will come from twin MAN engines, but further details about the propulsion, including the top speed and range, have not yet been revealed. She will also be equipped with a dive compressor and spacious lazarette to hold a plethora of water toys, including paddleboards.
