H2 Yacht Design

History

Superyacht designers H2 Yacht Design were founded in 1994 in London by director Jonny Horsfield, who graduated from Coventry University after studying car design, and who quickly found a passion for superyacht styling after working first with designer Martin Francis and then spending five years under the renowned superyacht designer Donald Starkey.

For the first 11 years, H2 Yacht Design worked on superyacht refits, but that changed in 2005 when they won the contract for the interior design of the 54 metre Proteksan superyacht Talisman C – H2’s first new-build. Since then, H2 has done exterior styling and interior design for a number of new yachts.

Notable yachts

Responsible for both the exterior styling and interior design, the 2014 Blohm + Voss 82 metre superyacht Graceful is the largest H2 Yacht Design launch to date, although the studio does have a 120 metre project in build in Europe. Jonny Horsfield and his team can also claim credit for the interior and exterior design of Proteksan superyachts Vicky and Talisman C – at 72.6 metres and 70.5 metres respectively – along with the interior design of 73.8 metre Nobiskrug Odessa II.

Specialisations

H2 has branched out to do not only exterior and interior design of new superyachts but also interior design for exclusive private residential projects. The studio’s concept designs include 90 metre superyacht Mars, developed with Fincantieri while awards include a ShowBoats Design Award in 2013 for the interior layout design of Proteksan superyacht Vicky.
