For sale: Seven explorer yachts on the market

7 November 2025 • Written by Emily Dawkins

As the name suggests, explorer yachts are built for adventure, with long ranges, plentiful storage and ice-cleaving hulls that allow owners to access (almost) all areas of the globe. By today's standards, explorers are also packed with luxury amenities and features, curated as a lavish retreat no matter the elements outside.

BOAT takes a look at seven explorer yachts for sale, each seeking their next avid adventurer, beginning with an eye-catching blue-hulled build...

King Benji

Length: 46.7m
Builder: Dunya Yachts
Year: 2024

King Benji hit the water in 2024, unveiling her eye-catching blue hull, penned by Gregory C. Marshall, and immersive, tropical interiors from the drawing boards of British studio Design Unlimited. She was curated to embody "the owner's spirit and passion for adventure", with design features onboard ranging from bamboo detailing overhead and reclaimed timber headboards displayed like artwork, to undersea-themed guest rooms in a homage to Jules Verne’s science-fiction novel 20 Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. It was the aforementioned highlights, as well as her custom sushi bar and tub with drop-slide panel, that won her the Best Interior Design award in her category at the 2025 BOAT International Design & Innovation Awards.

King Benji is asking $36,999,000 with Merle Wood & Associates and Denison Yachting.

A "minimalist" interior by Luca Dini Design & Architecture, M. Her rugged exterior – also penned by Luca Dini with Sydac responsible for the naval architecture – features plenty of open-air deck spaces, including a large upper deck aft for al fresco dining and further lounge seating aft of the bridge deck. According to her broker, "no penny has been spared in her maintenance".

Tribu is asking €15,900,000 (VAT paid) with BlackOrange Yachts.

However, despite her rugged explorer nature, the yacht exudes Italian sophistication inside and out, with both designs penned by Francesco Paszkowski Design. As such, she is host to features including an upper deck lounge designed for games and entertainment, a sundeck equipped with a glass whirlpool, Teppanyaki grill and custom dining table, and a lower deck gym with a fold-down balcony.

Pacific Provider

Length: 48m
Builder: Blount
Year: 1978

Pacific Provider was originally launched in 1978, before some 47 years later hitting the water for a second time following a major transformation into an adventurous expedition yacht. A new superstructure designed by Boris Kirilloff was fitted to her previous profile, adding guest suites, additional crew quarters and a "restaurant-sized" galley to her onboard features, as well as a lounge, dining room, indoor and outdoor bar areas and a sundeck. Now, the Blount flagship offers six en suite cabins for 12 guests, and a Jacuzzi-clad top deck, all in addition to a 12,000 nautical-mile range for transatlantic cruising.

Pacific Provider is asking $2,500,000 with Fraser.

Scintilla Maris

Length: 45.6m
Builder: Damen Maaskant
Year: 1988

Originally delivered in 1988, Scintilla Maris is tailored to long-range, autonomous cruising. Over a four-year refit at Dutch shipyard Damen Maaskant, she was stripped to bare steel and reimagined while still retaining her original, rugged exterior. Inside, her new design is a blend of skylights, sweeping walls and bold colours. Scintilla Maris now accommodates 10 guests in a spacious layout, including an owner's suite under the original hatch that once led to the fish hold, while also benefiting from a hybrid-electric propulsion system and four operational modes. Not afraid of adventure, she recently took part in a week-long scientific expedition along Iceland’s wild East Coast in partnership with Yachts for Science.

Scintilla Maris is asking €18,950,000 with Burgess.

Length: 72.3m
Builder: Clelands
Year: 1980

Another impressive conversion project can be seen in the 1980 Clelands vessel, Bleu de Nîmes, which was originally built for the British Royal Navy as a degaussing ship. Following several years of service, she was purchased by a passionate yacht owner in 1999, undergoing her first extensive refit (completed in 2005), which adapted her into a capable explorer yacht. After 10 years of exploring the world, she was transformed again in 2016, this time into a "stylish charter yacht" during a major four-year rebuild, completed in 2020. Works included a 16-metre extension to her amidships and stern and an increase of volume by nearly 600GT, allowing for new cabins, two garages, a wellness area and a lift connecting all six of her decks.

Bleu de Nîmes is asking €47,000,000 with SuperYachtsMonaco.
