Astondoa 110 Century

The yachting world is heading to Florida for the 2016 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, and we have picked out all the top superyachts you should make a date to see, listed in alphabetic order starting with the Astondoa 110 Century.

Launched earlier this year to mark the Spanish yard Astondoa's centenary, the new version of the 110 features an enclosed skylounge, a vast tender garage and contemporary interiors by Cristiano Gatto. Twin 2,030hp MTU 16V 2000 M84 diesel engines propel this 33.5 metre semi-displacement hull to a top speed of 24 knots.

Black Gold

The first new model from Westport Yachts in seven years, 38 metre _Black Gold _is a real must-see. A contemporary interior meshes well with the spirit of the exterior styling for the first Westport to feature a superyacht beach club. Top speed on this tried and tested hull is more than 25 knots and the draught, at 1.75 metres, allows worry-free cruising from the Bahamas to the Caribbean or docking behind a private house.

Chasseur

Chasseur's owner worked with Varo Interior Design to bring to life his contemporary vision, which strikes a balance between minimalism and modernism and takes advantage of the natural light streaming through large expanses of glass on this Christensen superyacht. The MCA-compliant 50 metre yacht will be available for charter along the Caribbean/Mediterranean circuit.

Delta 88 IPS

Part of Swedish builder Delta Powerboats’ flagship line, this 25 metre motor yacht looks like no other. Rakish, modern lines by Lars Modin set it apart from the crowd. The Delta 88 IPS is also one of the few boats in this category to be built in carbon. Her triple Volvo IPS1200 engines yield a top speed of around 37 knots but she has great fuel efficiency, too.

Eleonora III

Eleonora III is the first hull of Columbus Yachts’ 40 metre Sport Hybrid series. This ShowBoats Design Award winner features hybrid propulsion that gives more than 20 knots with the mains engaged and eight knots in electric mode. A light, warm interior from Hot Lab Yacht and Design complements the open air feeling of the yacht.

Fast And Furious

Damen, the parent company of superyacht builder Amels, is displaying its YS 5009, a support vessel for sailing regattas, diving adventures or whatever else you can imagine. Fast And Furious has a range of 5,000nm at 16 knots with a top speed of 22 knots. About 225 square metres of space can be dedicated to hauling superyacht water toys, in addition to the helipad. It can be outfitted for six to 20 crew and staff.

Ferretti 850

One of two new Ferretti Yachts models for 2016, the 26 metre Ferretti 850 has a bold profile, giving her an aggressive personality to match her 29 knot performance. The transom can fold down to form a beach area, or lower into the water for access. Accommodation includes a master with design elements by Minotti, two VIPs and a twin.

Galactica Super Nova

Galactica Super Nova can top 30 knots thanks to two MTUs plus a booster engine, but it’s her looks, by Espen Øino, that will stop you in your tracks, while Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design carried the spirit of the beach inside this 70 metre Heesen superyacht. What goes on below water is also interesting. This is the largest example of Van Oossanen Naval Architects’ Fast Displacement Hull Form, made for efficiency and comfort over the speed range.

Global 104

In drafting the new Global 104 yacht, Cheoy Lee set out to create something that did not yet exist, endowing it with the spaces of a 34 metre yacht while fitting in both a main deck master and a generous size country kitchen. This casually elegant boat is propelled at a swift 25-plus knots, thanks to twin 1,900hp Caterpillars.

Iron Man

The first hull in the Benetti Vivace 125 series, Iron Man was launched by the Italian yard in 2015. Her innovative AKJ Design Concepts interior subtly pays homage to the Marvel superhero movie of the same name and its protagonist Tony Stark's playboy mansion. This innovative 38.1 metre Benetti superyacht features a Rolls-Royce pod-drive propulsion system, which propels the displacement hull through the waves at speeds of up to 22 knots.
