The 40.8-metre custom superyacht Aisha has been launched at the Anadolu Shipyard in Turkey – a shipbuilding facility close to Istanbul, best known for military vessels.

Built entirely in aluminium, Aisha was conceived by Red Yacht Design and commissioned by a client who sought generous family living spaces without compromising performance and seakeeping.

The yacht features exterior and interior design by the design studio, which has offices in London and Istanbul, with naval architecture and engineering by Notilus Engineering. Meanwhile, project management was overseen by Turkish firm Eureka Yachts. According to BOATPro, Aisha's delivery is scheduled for this spring.

Aisha's owner outlined a brief for "substantial interior volume" with the intention of spending extended time onboard with family and friends. To achieve this, Red Yacht Design designed a new build with a raised pilothouse, a wide 9.1-metre beam and an open aft deck with unfolding bulwarks.

Fatih Surekli, co-founder of Red Yacht Design, previously described Aisha as a "sporty-looking" yacht that supports the performance of a 40-metre yacht. "We designed the exterior lines using modern, simple yet sophisticated lines. It was our priority to use wide windows," he said.

Aisha's interiors were designed in close collaboration with the owner, who wanted to ensure that the yacht reflects his lifestyle and specific requests. The result is a "welcoming, practical and highly personal interior" curated for long stays, entertaining and family routines.

The yacht plays host to a 60-square-metre saloon with a generous lounge, a table for breakfast or games and a bar that is connected to the galley. The layout has been specifically conceived with a tilting window to ensure the owner and family can use the galley to cook while remaining joined to the principal social area.

Accommodation is offered for a maximum of 10 guests, with the design team paying close attention to the lifestyle of the owner to make the best use of the interior space. There is a full-beam master cabin on the main deck, which is equipped with an office and his and hers bathrooms.

The remaining cabins are found on the lower deck, comprising two doubles and two singles with additional Pullman berths, though the single cabins can be converted into doubles if desired. Eight crew can also be accommodated onboard.

Aisha is crowned by a 120-square-metre sundeck, which boasts a dining table for 12, a fully equipped bar-cum-barbecue and lounge areas. A service lift also runs between the galley and this deck.

At the owner's request, an extended hardtop was designed to keep most of the area in the shade. However, there is also a sunning area for guests to enjoy.

Aisha is expected to travel at a maximum speed of 19 knots thanks to twin MAN engines. At an economical cruising speed of 15 knots, the yacht’s range will be 1,500 nautical miles.

Late last year, Red Yacht Design launched a collaborative new yacht brand known as Manari Yachts, which will debut with a Mediterranean dayboat model.
