US-headquartered yard Lazzara Yachts has announced that construction has begun on the first unit from its Lazzara UHV 160 series. Delivery on the 48-metre yacht is scheduled for mid 2028.
The model is named after its "Ultra High Volume", sitting just under the 500GT threshold, but has also been designed with longevity and transatlantic navigation in mind. This includes the fast-displacement hull, constructed in advanced epoxy E-glass composite, which has no traditional through-hulls for greater structural integrity.
The UHV 160 is the largest offering from the yard's UHV series, with the sale of this first unit announced in October 2024.
Inside, accommodation is across six guest cabins and five crew cabins, with the owner's suite positioned on a private deck. UK-based H2 Yacht Design will be responsible for interiors, with the "Art Deco" and "Neoclassical" eras previously named as its inspiration.
Outdoor living is the focus of the model, with the space offered on board comparable to yachts in the 51- to 58-metre size range, according to the yard.
There are several al fresco dining options, sunloungers and seating spread across the UHV 160's four decks, alongside a versatile flybridge with a dedicated gym-cum-yoga area.
A standout feature on board is the vast aft beach club, complete with a jacuzzi and fold-out balconies, which has been designed to be "the most spacious beach club in its class and size category". There is also storage for water toys and twin Jet Skis.
The propulsion system will be advanced with commercial pod drives for reduced vibration and environmental impact. Engineering has been completed in collaboration with US firm Euro Marine Group, while Dutch studio Mulder Design is responsible for the naval architecture.
According to BOATPro, the shipyard has four yachts currently on order or under construction, including its largest yacht project to date.
