Dutch yard Moonen Yachts has announced that its eighth Moonen 122 Martinique model, Lollipop, has successfully completed sea trials in the North Sea, marking a major milestone ahead of delivery to her owners this summer.
The intensive trials were conducted over several days, with the yard testing the yacht’s performance, comfort and onboard systems across every parameter. According to Moonen, Lollipop "performed beyond expectations", from manoeuvrability and stability to noise and vibration levels. Following sea trials, she will now undergo final outfitting and handover preparations before leaving the yard "in the coming weeks".
The update comes after the 37.4-metre new build hit the water in March at the yard's facilities in Den Bosch, the Netherlands, as a "highly personalised interpretation" of one of Moonen's most popular models.
Long-standing Moonen collaborator René van der Velden is responsible for the design of the line's classic, masculine exterior, while naval architecture is owed to Diana Yacht Design, which opted for high-tensile steel to ensure the model's long-range cruising capabilities.
Hull eight's interiors were first unveiled at the 2025 Palm Beach International Boat Show as the first from the series penned by Dutch studio Vripack. Shortly after, in October, the yacht was sold to an experienced American client and underwent several personalisations at the owner's request. The most notable of which is her metallic hull colour, which blends white, light silver and subtle blue-grey undertones, paired with a bright white superstructure.
The owners also worked with Vripack to elevate outdoor living, with additions including a custom sundeck Jacuzzi with a "playful front panel" decorated in candy-inspired details. This is complemented by a custom cocktail bar with a transparent countertop embedded with lollipops and candy and a front made from soft, pastel lighting tubes.
The series, which began in 2018 with the World Superyacht Award-winning Brigadoon, is characterised by its broad sundeck, arranged with a sheltered dining area, bar, optional custom whirlpool and a sofa arrangement forward of the wheelhouse. Other highlights include an extended, 20-square-metre swim platform, al fresco dining on the main deck and quarters for up to seven crew.
Accommodation is across five cabins, comprising a full-beam owner's suite on the main deck (complete with forward-facing windows), two VIP guest cabins with high ceilings and two lower-deck guest cabins. Along with a fireplace in the skylounge – complete with a Frame TV above for cosy cinema nights – Vripack also previously unveiled its homely touch to the owner's cabin by tweaking the GA and flipping the position of the bed.
Powered by twin CAT engines, the new build offers a top speed of 17 knots, a cruising speed of 15 knots and a range of 3,500 nautical miles at 10 knots.

“This is always one of the most rewarding stages of a build,” said Ian Vermoen, project manager at Moonen Yachts. “Seeing Lollipop perform so confidently during her endurance trials is a testament to the dedication and craftsmanship of everyone involved in the project. She handled the North Sea beautifully and is now fully prepared to begin her journey with her owners.”
Once delivered, Lollipop is set to spend her first cruising season "exploring some of Europe’s most celebrated destinations".
The Martinique model has proved itself popular, with the ninth unit also under construction and the seventh – named Ad Astra – recently delivered.
