Turkish yard Mengi Yay has released the first interior renderings of the NL 50 Plus, a 52.6-metre yacht model designed as part of a capsule collection with Italian designer Nuvolari Lenard. The first unit is currently under construction in Istanbul, Turkey, with delivery scheduled for 2026.
"We are enthusiastic to work with Dan Lenard, Carlo Nuvolari and their staff of designers, because their contribution has already brought new ideas, concrete experience and a tangible increase in product quality," said Mengi Yay CEO Hüseyin Mengi.
Interiors are casual and sophisticated, incorporating a warm colour palette, minimalist lines and "premium woods" for a versatile canvas for any potential clients.
The custom superyacht was developed in collaboration with Camper & Nicholsons and has a "highly efficient" hull designed by Van Oossanen. Another standout feature is the sundeck, described as "one of the largest in her category", complete with a custom heated spa pool and fire pit. The stern is also worth noting, designed as a vast beach club area with a drop-down platform that extends the sea terrace over the water. It also features an integrated custom pool.
Accommodation includes a 50-square-metre owner's cabin with a dedicated office, spa-inspired bathroom and slide-out terrace. Guest accommodation is across four VIP cabins on the lower deck, alongside further quarters for eight crew.
"The sliding balcony has a couple of modes – when closed, it leaves a little space outside where you can hang out by opening the window door," said naval architect and co-founder Carlo Nuvolari. "It’s perfect to take the air or to enjoy the view of the sea and surroundings day or night. When you slide the balcony out, the rail moves into place automatically, which means you can operate it and enjoy it in total privacy."
Other leisure highlights include the foredeck lounge, which doubles as an open-air cinema and storage space for a seven-metre tender and a variety of water toys.
"Our experience and the partnership with Mengi Yay and Camper & Nicholsons has been hugely beneficial," added Nuvolari. "Working with Camper & Nicholsons also means we can draw on their experience to make the communication, coordination and control of the projects much easier."
According to BOATPro, Mengi Yay has six superyacht projects on order or under construction. This follows the successful delivery of Serenissima I and Serenissima II, two other key collaborations with Nuvolari Lenard.
