For the first time in her history, the iconic 88 metre sailing yacht Maltese Falcon will be leaving Europe and heading to the warm waters of the Maldives for the upcoming winter charter season.

Her change of scenery is part of a brand new partnership set up between charter broker SuperYachtsMonaco and luxury hotel Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi, located amidst the abundant coral reefs of South Maé Atoll.

This iconic three masted sailing yacht was launched in 2006 by Perini Navi and was a game changer in the industry with her never before seen “Falcon Rig” which helps her muster up an impressive top speed of 24 knots under sail. She offers the ultimate setting for exploring the pure shorelines of the Indian Ocean, with accommodation for 12 guests and 19 crew, plus an outdoor cinema, extensive wine cellar, jacuzzi and a toybox bursting to the brim. There’s also a spa complete with a gym, a hair salon and a massage room, and on board beauty/massage therapists and personal trainers will help guests make the most of the facilities.

But for guests looking to experience even more during their charter, Maltese Falcon is now offering exclusive access to the luxury facilities of the Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi resort. This means that guests who need to stretch their sea legs on shore can disembark from Maltese Falcon and enjoy time at the five-star hotel, revelling in the aqua wellness centre, spa, tennis courts, shopping boutique, dive centre and 11 different gourmet restaurants.

The high-end resort, which offers accommodations in elegant, castaway-style thatched-roof villas, will therefore function as an extension to the charter experience on board Maltese Falcon, and charter guests will be the only day guests permitted on-site thanks to the unique new partnership.

Maltese Falcon is managed for charter by SuperYachtsMonaco with a weekly charter rate starting from €460,000.
