How much does a superyacht cost? The answer is not so simple. Much like a luxury watch or car, the asking price of a yacht for sale depends on a variety of factors such as age, pedigree and finish, with the largest and newest vessels peaking into the hundreds of millions. To give you a better idea, BOAT rounds up the 50 most expensive yachts currently listed for sale, starting with the 114.2-metre Luna...

Builder: Royal Huisman
Length: 56.1m
Designers: Dykstra Naval Architects, Mark Whiteley

The 56.1-metre ketch Apsara is a modern classic from Dutch pedigree yard Royal Huisman, delivered in 2018 and combining traditional hull lines with a powerful contemporary sailing rig and a clean, understated aesthetic throughout. Her exterior is characterised by two low-profile teak-clad deckhouses and a versatile mid-deck lounge, complete with a sun canopy that can be deployed at anchor, while the main cockpit is designed for relaxed socialising, with flexible tables that can be arranged for everything from casual coffee to a dinner setting for 10. Interiors by Mark Whiteley channel a refined New England-inspired style, with brush-painted white panelling offset by rich mahogany joinery. Panoramic windows fill the main deck saloon with natural light, while a lower saloon forward is fitted with a high-resolution cinema screen, surround sound system and a fully equipped gym. Accommodation is for eight guests across four cabins, including a light-filled owner’s suite with an oval skylight.

A wellness-focused beach club incorporates a gym, sauna and hammam, while the upper deck aft is arranged for al fresco dining. Virtuosity

Asking €49,500,000 with Edmiston

Builder: Sanlorenzo
Length: 56.5m
Designers: Zuccon International Project, Piero Lissoni

Virtuosity was delivered in 2023 as the second unit from the Italian yard's 57Steel series - the first, My Alma, delivered only weeks before, according to BOATPro. Designed by Zuccon International Project (with Sanlorenzo's proven in-house naval architecture) the series was created to offer double the interior volume of its predecessor, the 52Steel, while maintaining the yard's signature features. As a result, the motor yacht boasts a 1,050GT interior volume with multiple living spaces, including an upper deck panoramic sky lounge that functions as an observatory-cum-social hub - enclosed by "near-continuous" floor-to-ceiling glass. A highlight, however, is her lower deck beach club, or "wellness space", which is illuminated by the aft deck's four-metre glass-bottomed pool and equipped with multiple folding terraces which open directly to the sea. Italian designer Piero Lissoni was responsible for Virtuosity's "special edition" interior design, using natural materials and muted tones to characterise her five decks, accommodating up to 12 guests in six cabins.

Wedge Too

Asking €49,500,000 with Camper & Nicholsons and Feadship Resale

Builder: Feadship
Length: 65m
Designers: Philippe Starck, Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects, Thierry Gaugain

Philippe Starck's first superyacht Wedge Too was an instant classic. The yacht returned to traditional yacht building with the extensive use of wood on her superstructure, while her elevator, three saloons and sundeck with an oval-shaped pool and sunpads remained firmly on-trend. Accommodation is across nine cabins, including an owner's deck with a private veranda and a master suite with a forward-facing semi-circle of windows. According to Starck, his aim for Wedge Too was to create "a yacht that [was] of extraordinary quality" while avoiding anything "structurally vulgar or offensive".

There are standout features aplenty on board the 64.5-metre, the list including a main saloon that can convert into a cinema, a massage room for two, a library with an electric fireplace, a touch-and-go helipad and a fully-equipped gym at sea level with a fold-down terrace. Bleu de Nîmes

Asking €47,000,000 with SuperYachtsMonaco
Credit: SuperYachtsMonaco

Builder: Clelands, FYD Monaco
Length: 72.3m
Designers: Pier Vittorio Cerruti

Bleu de Nîmes was originally delivered in 1980, commissioned by the British Royal Navy as a degaussing ship, then known as RMAS Lodestone. After a decade of service, she was purchased by an experienced superyacht owner in 1999 and so began an exhaustive six-year refit which transformed her into a capable private explorer yacht. In 2016, her owner decided to upgrade her into a "stylish charter yacht" and embarked on another major rebuild - this one taking four years and completing in 2020. Works included a 16-metre extension to her amidships and stern, and an increase of volume by nearly 600GT, expanding her accommodation to a generous 13-cabin layout for up to 28 guests, cared for by a crew of 23. In terms of amenities, Bleu de Nîmes boasts a library room, an "immersive" cinema room, a beach club and a fully-equipped, 50-square-metre gym next to a massage room and sauna.
