Italian yard Cantiere delle Marche (CdM) has announced the delivery of Haze², the sixth unit in its Darwin 102 series.
The 30.8-metre model is the successor of Extra Yachts' 26.2-metre Haze, which was owned by World Superyacht Awards judge Steve Rigby. The British entrepreneur began his relationship with CdM following a tour of a Darwin 106 during the 2022 Cannes Yachting Festival.
“All Darwin models share the same expedition-ready spirit, yet each yacht is uniquely crafted to suit its owner’s lifestyle,” explained Vasco Buonpensiere, co-founder and CEO of CdM. “Our ability to adapt and our consistent quality of construction were key in earning the trust of this experienced British owner, assisted by Andrew Bond of Fraser. A seasoned sailor with experience in both sailing and motor yachts, he knew exactly what he wanted from his next vessel.”

Speaking to BOAT International, Lawson Robb's director and creative lead, George Wolstenholme, described the owner's previous yacht as more of a "fairweather craft". "Now, he has expanded [...] and sunk his teeth into something that can take him further afield," said Wolstenholme.
In this spirit of expansion, exterior refinements have been made to the CdM model, including a redesigned wheelhouse windscreen for increased visibility, as well as a concealed tender crane on the aft of the sundeck in the style of the yard's RJ line. Exterior design and naval architecture are owed to Italian studio Hydro Tec.
Interiors are fully custom, with the owner's brief detailing the need for intimate areas suitable for entertaining and remote work. Images reveal a "contemporary and tactile interior", decorated with a soft, muted palette with pops of colour (particularly reds and oranges), alongside open-grain wood, brushed bronze, and mosaic details, all said to create an "atmosphere of refined modernity". Accommodation on board is for 12 guests and a crew of five.
"At its core, Haze² reflects the dual nature of the Darwin ethos: an explorer’s spirit paired with the serenity of a true home at sea," her owner shared. "Its design celebrates contrasts - strength and delicacy, formality and ease, precision and warmth. The result is a yacht that harmonises function, craftsmanship, and atmosphere, embodying a cohesive and contemporary evolution of the Darwin line. Haze² stands as both a statement of design intent and a lived experience, a vessel that bridges the technical and the tactile, the adventurous and the intimate."
Other onboard highlights include a sundeck Jacuzzi flanked by sunpads and aft deck tender storage. Power is from twin Caterpillar engines offering a range of over 5,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 9 knots. The yacht will serve as both a private and charter yacht and has been classed accordingly.
CdM has 14 yachts currently under construction, according to BOATPro. The Ancona-based shipyard recently offered a first look inside its 46.9-metre flagship, named RJ, which made her official debut at this year's Monaco Yacht Show.
