Rob Doyle Design has teamed up with Van Geest Design to present a 54 metre sailing yacht concept named Fury 500.
The concept follows a 63m version previously revealed by the pair, after which they received numerous requests to design a sub-500GT version.
Described as a “true hybrid yacht”, the 499GT design comprises “all the benefits of the largest Fury” but “in a more compact package.” This includes keeping the full-beam owner’s cabin positioned on the main deck, which is “is a feature you only get in large motor yachts,” the studios said.
Elsewhere, the yacht’s propulsion package consists of a hybrid propeller regeneration system which the studio described as a “real hybrid system”. Owners also have the option of installing hydrogen fuel cell technology, resulting in “zero emissions capabilities, unlimited range and access to emission-free zones”, such as the Norwegian Fjords from 2026.
Elsewhere, the yacht features a safe deck layout and an advanced sail plan that reduces the need for large crews.
