Italian shipyard Cantiere delle Marche (CdM) has announced that the second and third hulls from its flagship 50.3-metre Flexplorer 165 series have been moved to outfitting.
The contracts for both new builds were signed in 2024. The second unit was sold to an American owner represented by Christian Bakewell of Burgess, and the third commissioned by an owner from North America with Chris Holtzheuser of Allied Marine. According to BOATPro, both units are scheduled for delivery in 2027.
At 50.3 metres, the Flexplorer 165 is the shipyard's largest explorer series to date, with exterior design and naval architecture owed to Hydro Tec. The first hull is also under construction and slated for delivery in 2027, sold to an experienced European yachtsman.
Both the second and third Flexplorer 165 units are highly customised, with specialist features chosen by their respective owners. According to the shipyard, hull two stands as a "bold testament to innovation and true customisation", with the yard having to "think beyond conventional boundaries" to fulfil the owner's requests.
One example is the yacht's full-sized standard pickleball court, which required substantial structural modifications to the original Flexplorer 165 platform. To facilitate the request, the yard extended the upper deck overhang and subsequently created two dedicated spectator areas - one alongside the court and another at an elevated vantage point on the sundeck.
The upper deck has also been further reinforced and is fully equipped to accommodate touch-and-go operations for an EC130 helicopter. Inside, British studio Design Unlimited is responsible for the interiors.

As such, the build will carry a large Dual Console tender, launched by a crane with an increased capacity of 4.5 tons, as well as two other tenders.
The yacht also features a flexible interior layout for a large family, with highlights including a convertible skylounge which can transform into an additional cabin and a lower deck cabin which can be configured as a private lounge. This unit will feature interiors from Giorgio M. Cassetta.
The two in-build yachts join nine other vessels currently under construction or on order at the shipyard, according to BOATPro. CdM also recently announced the sale of two 45-metre explorer new builds inspired by the 45.7-metre Tremenda.
