P2

The 38.15 metre Perini Navi P2 will arrive in the British Virgin Islands for the 2016 Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta and Rendezvous as the defending champion.

In 2015 P2 came first in Class A following a week of nail-bitingly close finishes. In doing so she also claimed The Loro Piana Prize: The Boat International Media Trophy for the lowest scoring yacht of the week.

Inoui

Inoui is Vitters' 33.4 metre lean, mean, green superyacht sailing machine. She was christened in 2013 and has been racing ever since.

Boat International went on board with Inoui's racing yacht owner Marco Vögele last year. He and his crew came second in Class A at the 2015 regatta and will be hoping to go one better this year.

Freya

Freya made headlines with her Class B victory at the 2014 Loro Piana Caribbean Regatta. The 27.71 metre Nautor's Swan was launched in 2012 and has taken part in several of the regattas.

"I couldn’t be happier," enthused owner Donald MacPherson_ _following his 2014 victory. "One year ago we were here and we came in last! Over this past year we have worked very hard and for us to come in first today was just so rewarding, we’re delighted."

Freya moved up to Class A in 2015 and came a respectable 3rd behind P2 and Inoui in a week of very tight racing.

Nilaya

Nilaya is a 34.13m sailing yacht built in Finland by Baltic Yachts. She tasted success in her first regatta, winning her class at the Super Yacht Cup Palma 2011.

The competitive Nilaya has continued to win regattas around the world, including the overall prize — the Boat International Media Trophy — in the 2014 Loro Piana Caribbean Regatta.

Following the win in 2014, Nilaya's owner said "We are very happy we won, that’s of course the reason why you come here. We did well, our tactics were good, the trimming was good, the whole crew work was very good, and the wind conditions were good. So we are happy, the competition was good, and with fantastic organisation."

Ganesha

The 46 metre Vitters sailing yacht Ganesha is the successor of the 38.9 metre yacht Ganesha I. She was launched in 2013 and has an impressive 62 metre Southern Spars carbon mast.

Ganesha won the 2014 World Superyacht Awards category for best sailing yacht over 40 metres.

She is primed for cruising and regatta racing, with her lines inspired by the beam-to-length ration and the low freeboard of the J Class yachts.

Ganesha raced in last year's event as well as coming second in June's 2015  Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta in Sardinia.

Atalante

Atalante was launched by Claasaen in May 2015. The 38.8 metre sailing yacht was ordered by an existing Claasen owner in 2012, as he stepped up from his 27.5 metre Truly Classic 90, also named Atalante.

The owner will be hoping to put in a strong showing in Atalante's first Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta & Rendezvous.

Bella Ragazza

Bella Ragazza was built by Dutch yard Vitters as a fast cruising sloop to a design by Dubois Naval Architects. The 42.9 metre yacht was delivered in 2004 as Drumbeg but sold in 2014 and renamed Bella Ragazza. She has five guest staterooms and four crew cabins, which is unusual for a yacht of this size.

Bella Ragazza is just one of the Vitters built yachts that have signed up for the regatta, with entries also in from Ganesha and Inoui.

Maegan

Maegan was launched in 2015 by Oyster and added to its charter fleet. The 25.15 metre yacht was designed by Rob Humphreys Yacht Design.

The Oyster 825 raced in Class C in the 2015 Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta in Porto Cervo and put in a strong showing in what was her first regatta.

She then went on to win her Class at the Superyacht Cup in Palma. She showed outstanding upwind capability and was steered by owner Klaas Meertens.

Clan VIII

The 45.30 metre sailing yacht Clan VIII was delivered by Perini Navi in 2011. She is the fourth of the steel-hulled 45 metre series delivered by Perini Navi and designed by Ron Holland Design.

She features a folding stern that opens out to reveal a seven square metre swimming platform.

Clan VIII is a regular on the superyacht race circuit. She took third place in Class A at the 2015 Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta in Sardinia and followed up with another strong performance at the Perini Cup 2015, where she finished only a single point behind 56 metre ketch Rosehearty.

Elfje

Elfje was delivered in the summer of 2014 and kept a low profile to begin with. In 2015 the yachts builder, Royal Huisman, shared a stunning video of Elfje under sail in the Caribbean. The video was a sneak preview before her public debut at the 2015 St Barths Bucket Regatta, where she shared victory in Class B.

Elfje has been described as a sailing superyacht of the ages. She is a modern superyacht fit for the rigours of racing, but she is also capable of providing comfort and enjoyment for her guests.
