The Sailing Yachts Racing in The 2020 New Zealand Millennium Cup

Excitement is building as the start date of the New Zealand Millennium Cup 2020 nears, with Royal Huisman the latest to confirm their position as sponsors for the race. In anticipation of the regatta, which will take place from 29 January to 1 February 2020, we look at the sailing yachts hoping to win this year.


The 28.1 metre sailing yacht Tawera begins the regatta in a good position, having won the 2019 edition of the Millennium Cup. Launched in 1995 by Alloy Yachts, Tawera was designed by Ron Holland and refitted as recently as 2017. Her Peter Sijm-designed interior can accommodate a total of six guests and four crew.
