Archimedes books in for Feadship refit

The 68 metre FeadshipArchimedes has booked into her home yard for a three-month refit.
The yacht arrived at the Dutch yard late last month, fresh from completing an “epic” expedition in the Arctic.
Her refit will be well deserved. Since her launch in 2008, Archimedes has visited more than 80 countries and clocked up over 210,000 nautical miles.
Feadship has published a list of the various upgrades and maintenance that will take place, which includes the replacement of teak on the stern platform and the replacement of all onboard AV facilities.
The upholstery of the furniture and beds will be replaced, while the floor of the sundeck saloon will be repainted. The crew mess will also be rebuilt.
A number of major maintenance works will also take place, specifically on the engine supports, gangway, tender lift and stern platform door. The generator, heating and air conditioning and watermaker will all be upgraded and various parts of the superstructure will be repainted.
Archimedes’ captain Christopher Walsh said it was “a genuine pleasure” to book the yacht into her home yard for the refit.
“This yacht has taken the owner and the crew to all areas of the world in complete safety and comfort. Having the refit activities carried out at Feadship ensures that she will continue to operate in the premium condition that only a Feadship can offer,” he added.
