Sanlorenzo SD112 yacht launched and named Kia Ora

Italian yard Sanlorenzo has launched the 14th hull in its SD112 series of 34.1 metre motor yachts, which has been named Kia Ora.

The launch ceremony took place in Viareggio at the Polo Nautico facility last week (November 18) and delivery is due to take place in early 2018, after which point Kia Ora will be based in Mallorca.

The client is described as an experienced yacht owner who was brought in by regional dealer Sanlorenzo Spain last year. Kia Ora’s exterior lines are by long-time yard collaborator Francesco Paszkowski, while the interior décor was developed by Citterio Viel — this project marks the Milanese studio’s third collaboration with Sanlorenzo.

Accommodation is for up to ten guests split between five cabins, including an owner’s suite that is situated forward on the main deck. Two doubles and two twins on the lower deck complete the guest layout, while the crew quarters allows for a staff of up to six people.

Sanlorenzo Spain adds that the owner has extensive cruising plans and Kia Ora’s high-level specification reflects that. Power comes from a pair of 1,224hp MTU 10V2000 M72 diesel engines for a top speed of 15 knots. When trimmed back to her economical speed of 11 knots, Kia Ora will boast a cruising range of 2,600 nautical miles, drawing on a 25,000 litre fuel capacity.

Other superyacht projects under development at the Italian yard include the first hull in the new Sanlorenzo 44 Alloy series, which is due to hit the water in 2019 with interior and exterior styling by Rome-based studio Zuccon International Project.
