Baglietto sells 40m fast displacement yacht

Italian yard Baglietto has announced that it has taken a new order for a 40 metre fast displacement yacht. This new custom design will be built in La Spezia from aluminium and delivered to an American client, although the yard has not disclosed a target launch date.

Exterior styling comes courtesy of Horacio Bozzo — in lieu of a rendering, Baglietto describes the yacht’s profile as “sporty and elegant”. For the interior decor, London-based design architect Achille Salvagni will take the lead. Both designers are working with Baglietto for the first time.

Michele Gavino, CEO of Baglietto, explained that although the order was placed in early 2018, it was the culmination of a particularly successful 2017 for the yard.

“Following the signature of a contract for a 54 metre yacht last summer, this is the second fully-custom project we have secured,” he added.

“To build these new yachts, we have developed two platforms capable of meeting the requirements and performance expected by our clients, this bears witness, once more, to our shipyard’s will to keep pursuing technical innovation and developing our naval engineering capabilities.”

Further details are undisclosed at this stage, with the yard remaining tight lipped about the accommodation, engine installation and estimated performance figures.

Other superyacht projects currently under development at the Italian yard include the second T-Line 48 metre yacht, a 55 metre T-Line yacht and a 43 metre fast planing yacht, while designs on the drawing board range from 38 to 70 metres.
